    Something to think about: afaik this country only has one or two nursing homes, and they’re not for everyone.

      Yup. Buried underneath most of the “ReTiReMeNt PlAn nG mAgUlAnG” circle jerk is the sad reality that retirement homes are not a thing here, and that it costs upwards to 1 million annually per person (looking at RainTree at least).

        I won’t be surprised some of these are either of the YOLO mentality (like they want to do everything until 40), or planning to die young because they fear what’s like to be past 60.

        Generally most of them would rather live the rest of their lives as overseas emigres.

        That’s why I said only a few, because the only decent one requires, yeah, money. While the other is government-funded… elderly care in New Bilibid for life-sentence convicts.
