It appears if a reply is voted higher than it’s parent comment then it will appear above it instead of under it. Quite annoying. Hopefully it gets worked out soon.
Sync has by far the highest customization which I love, and will happily pay the $20 for the ad-free version when the kinks are worked out. Although, Jerboa is a close second, and if they put in a default comment sorting option, I might just stick with it as it’s FOSS.
There are definitely weird quirks, I’ve only had it installed for 10 minutes and have already found this one when comments are sorted by top.

I think they meant the old Sync. This one is in beta and bugs are still expected.
