As early as September 28, 2023, SMS messages will no longer be available when you update your Messenger app.
Was anybody actually using this? I honestly forgot this was a supported feature. This is coming from someone who is still not happy about Signal dropping SMS support.
So when RCS stops working randomly again my messages have no way to send. Super.
If this was the Google messages app that would be the case but OP is talking about Facebook Messenger
Oh, thanks. I avoid anything Facebook so this has exactly zero impact on me, hooray!
It wasn’t clear to me from the post, but this is referring to sending SMS messages via Facebook Messenger, not Messages (Google’s RCS/SMS app).
The title says Facebook Messenger…
