Wasn’t that intended to fix an issue where other players in your multiplayer session could cause your console to execute arbitrary code? Imagine the fallout if it became “play Mario Kart and then have your console refuse to boot again”
Is Smash 4 online even playable? I remember it being laggy as hell. The Switch online has its issues but it was particularly bad on the 3DS.
I didn’t buy anything from them, after they shut down some of my wii-games multiplayer-stuff right after I bought the discs new from a store
