Summary

Germany’s Bundeswehr will establish a new homeland security land forces division by April, tasked with protecting critical infrastructure and military facilities.

This move aligns with the Osnabrück Decree to bolster defense capabilities amid concerns over Russian aggression following the Ukraine invasion.

The 6,000-strong unit will guard ports, pipelines, and digital infrastructure, preparing Germany for potential conflicts while its army operates under NATO command.

I wish DACH* speakers will use camelCase for nouns.

          close:

“in” and “heit” are not nouns (Inland, Sicherheit) and nouns start uppercase.

Also: I wish other languages would start their nouns in uppercase as it helps a lot in comprehending text.

I wish anglophones wouldn’t waste precious space between the individual parts of their words.

One might argue in favour of StreitKräfte.

          Edit: ah, too slow.

    Digital infrastructure?

I want to see a dozen soldiers sitting in our parliament, protecting a fax machine because that’s basically all digital infrastructure they have.
