I gotchu. I changed the link to an archived one, it’s all good now
The prefictability is really a flaw. Busses can go anywhere with a road. Much more flexible.
I beg to differ. A pedestrian or a cyclist is much more likely to be hit by a bus because buses can go and turn anywhere. Flexibility is an asset outside of cities and high-density areas, but in an urban area public transit on rails is far superior.
Take your liberal propaganda and stuff it
Your reaction is perfectly valid. Come, join us at fuckcars
It won’t get stuck in car traffic, for one, and it’s reversible so its operational footprint is smaller than that of a bus network. Also predictable because it’s on rails so people outside the tram know exactly where it’s going. Also lower operational and maintenance costs because less wear and smoother ride
F-150 SuperCrew with an 8-foot bed is 244 inches long, just over 20 feet. But that’s a truck with an 8-foot bed, it might actually do something useful sometimes. This is a three-row pavement princess SUV.
Expect a lot of dinged doors and door dinging.
…which will then lead to wider parking spaces and even more space stolen from pedestrians and cyclists.
And I’m sure no one is ever going to misuse that and claim the protester calmly standing in front of the car was “threatening them!!!1!!!1”
As a car enthusiast I’m incredibly conflicted because muscle cars are cool – but I can’t for the life of me tell you why. They’re loud, heavy, inefficient, and much clumsier and slower than other sports cars (which is why I prefer sports cars anyway). They have incredible amounts of power but they can’t even use it properly except on a prepped drag surface, maybe.
You’re right, they really are dumb as fuck.
Waymo uses Jaguar I-Pace CUVs that are built primarily out of aluminum and powered by lithium ion batteries. Aluminum melts at about 660°C, and Li-ion battery fires can easily reach 1000°C
Tom Morello was at the protest, hopefully he’s had the same thought
The vehicle, which had its blue lights on, was trapped on Waterloo Bridge on Wednesday morning due to congestion caused by Just Stop Oil, Met Police said. Pictures and footage from the scene shared on social media show queues of traffic in both directions on the busy bridge.
The climate campaigners have hit back at the force’s handling of the incident and claimed it was the Met police blocking the ambulance so they could “blame it on a protest march going in the other direction”.
The protesters weren’t the one blocking the ambulance. The cars were, and the cops didn’t do anything to alleviate that so the ambulance could get through the cars and to the protesters who would’ve let it through anyway.
You should read the entire article when you try to do a gotcha.
one set of people in invincible 2-tonne tanks
other set of people on bikes
Sure. The power dynamic “doesn’t exist”.
You’re a fucking moron.
And protesters always swiftly move to let emergency vehicles through, because they know not to block actually useful vehicles like ambulances and fire engines
I figured that was happening, which is why I updated the title to explicitly state it’s a Critical Mass event
…the post is intended to portray the difference in trains – the logical, excellent, and much preferable alternative to cars. They’re excellent everywhere else but absolute shite in the supposed pinnacle of the free market.
It’s a crosspost. I didn’t write the post
