The Left appropriated the term “woke” from black jive talk of 90 years ago. That’s a smug term and it definitely is a major gripe by MAGA against the Left.
It would have been better to use the term compassionate. I know it is four syllables but the Right couldn’t ridicule compassion.

because it’s not true, them being smug is a tiny fraction of what’s wrong with them, and pretending that it’s worth noting is disingenous.
